Nestling above the picturesque village of Farway, we offer a truly wonderful place for couples to celebrate their big day. Deriving from Old English words meaning “the land above the village” Bovehay Down sits in the heart of East Devon’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The views from our woodland offer a beautiful setting for wedding ceremonies and our rustic barn is perfect for dining and dancing afterwards. To enquire about our woodland weddings in East Devon, discuss your plans and book a visit, please contact us.
Bovehay Down is licensed for civil ceremonies or it is possible to have a symbolic ceremony as preferred. We will happily recommend celebrants to lead your wedding or guide you through the legal procedure. Of course, if you would prefer a religious ceremony, Farway Parish Church is 10-minutes away.
We can also offer vow renewals, hen parties, weekends away, engagement parties and any other special occasions you may have in mind. We welcome you to visit Bovehay Down to view our stunning, rustic facilities.
Do not hesitate to give our team a call on 01404 871436 – we’re a family business and will be very happy to discuss our woodland weddings in East Devon and any requirements you may have. We always work tirelessly to create a magical and memorable experience for each couple that choose to get married at our home.
Also, why not come along and just have a look around Bovehay Down? We’d love to give you a tour, plus we have fantastic cream teas available in the afternoons!
Following the government guidelines to protect our customers and staff we are closed for the time being.
We are looking forward to the future when we will be open again and welcoming you to view, celebrate and get married… the dates are still being snapped up. Couples who want to get married will not be beaten!
For now we can still make future plans for your special day, either by phone or email. A promotional video is also under construction so watch this space for a link coming soon.
